Apple Picking 2016

All I have to say is that I am so thankful for friends who schedule dates to go apple picking months in advance.  (yay Becca!) Because I really do love it- but I am such a short term thinker - that's why Dan and I work so well together, he's big picture and I plan out the details to make it happen.  Unfortunately he isn't big picture in terms of Fall.  Which is totally ok.  Eventually he'll convert over in realizing how amazing Fall is.  Until then, I will drink my pumpkin spice lattes, burn my pumpkin candles, and use my pumpkin soaps until December.  Because in my mind that is how long we can celebrate Fall- until Thanksgiving is over :)

Anyway, all of our friends realized was we were walking up to the orchard that we started doing our apple picking adventures when I was pregnant- maybe just 6 weeks or so?- with Jake!  I don't even think we had told more than 5 people. And this my friends, is why I keep a blog.  Because I was able to look back almost 5 years ago to find that post haha.  What is crazy is it feels just like yesterday we were at the Orchard together with just us couples!  However, I think we would all admit that although we are all juggling more kids and pushing strollers and rushing home to beat the meltdowns, we wouldn't trade any of it for the world.  I am so thankful for this group of friends and for all of their adorable kids that we get to hang out with.

We did everything we wanted- bought apple butter and pumpkin butter, ate tons of apples, drank apple cider and ate apple donuts, rode the tractor, and picked apples.  It was such a fun afternoon and a great way to start off this wonderful season :)

Baseball Season 2016

So here is the whole season in one blog post- I was able to photograph Jake's first game because my lovely in laws were in town and they held Cole in their cool car since it was almost 100 degrees with the heat index, therefore giving me two free hands.  Since practices and games were at Cole's bed time or nap time, I was left bouncing a fussy baby for most of the season, leaving me with very little time to take photos.  However, I soon learned that once you've photographed one T ball game, you've basically photographed them all :) Except for the fact that Jake became pretty obsessed with sliding as the season progressed and did some pretty hilarious slides to home plate and second base :)

Jake loved every single second of baseball season.  He loved playing catcher and pitcher the best and ran his little heart out every time he hit the ball!  And even though every single kid got to hit and score each inning, Jake loved informing me every time he entered the dugout if they were winning or losing and by exactly how many runs they were up or down by.  He just cracks me up.   Oh, and he now has taken up chewing gum because that's what the baseball players do- at least that is what we told him when he asked us one day what all the baseball players were chewing :) One day while watching a game on T.V. he commented that the field must be pretty sticky because they keep spitting it out.  All I could do was agree with him lol

I remember when he was little getting excited thinking of this day when we would watch him play sports.  And I just can't believe it's here!  It was so fun watching him learn and grow this season and hopefully he continues to do so!
