2 month {Cole William}

2 Months
{13 pounds 10 ounces}

This is when it really starts to get good :)  Although I felt like we were waiting forever, the smiles have finally started to come!  And we love every bit of them.  I probably said it last month, but it is so fun having a newborn around again :)  Jake loves watching him and is very much into smelling him right now... which is a little odd.  It must be the baby smell that he likes?  Either way, he's very interested in Cole and for that we are thankful lol  I forget how quickly they change and I am trying to savor every stage as much as I can!  Here are some fun things from this past month with Cole:
  • We are already into 6 month clothing (eek!)  He is a pound bigger than Jake was at this point, and definitely likes to eat!
  • He has rolled from his stomach to his back already a couple times and actually doesn't seem to mind tummy time too much (obviously until he gets tired lol) I  think it helps that he has an older brother to watch and look at!
  • We have gotten the first smiles, but he definitely makes you work for them!  He already has gotten comments from people that he is "so serious" lol
  • Cole got his first cold this month and it was so sad!  It definitely threw off his sleeping which was hard for a couple nights, but he's slowly on the mend.  I forgot how long colds last in these little people!
  • He loves getting changed!  That's where we get the most smiles.  And I love all his rolls so it's a fun time for everyone :)
  • Jake always tells me he will "keep an eye out" for Cole and loves giving him baths.  He also randomly comes up to me saying "We love baby Cole!" and is always asking me "what's baby Cole doing?"
  • And I may or may not have thought Cole had a seizure one night. And I may have googled infant spasms at 3 in the morning and woken up Dan in a panic.  Long story short, I'm pretty sure his cold and constant arm and head movement and lack of sleep led me to believe there was something seriously wrong with our son.  Needless to say don't google anything medical and infant related at 3am. Lesson learned :)
Needless to say, we are very happy with the new little addition to our family!

Christmas- it's never too late, right?!

I am sure NO ONE is still thinking about Christmas.  It actually seems like it was months ago even though we just took our Christmas decorations down this weekend ha.  But unfortunately it has taken me this long to sit down and write a blog post!  With traveling and sickness and a couple photography sessions planned for this month, it has turned out to be pretty busy!  Thankfully, the kiddos naps are overlapping here for a hot second so I was able to get these all uploaded!

We seriously had a wonderful Christmas seeing all our family.  All our siblings were in town which was so fun!  Unfortunately, the stomach bug made its way through my family (how our little family didn't get is unknown to me.  Seriously, it is only by God's grace that we made it through the holidays without getting sick!)  And thankfully we didn't because traveling with a 5 week old proved to be a little difficult at times!  We learned that Cole is not a huge fan of the car- or at least 7 hour drives lol  The way down was great but we had to make a couple stops on the way home.  Thankfully, we made it though :)   So, here are some pictures of our time in Ohio for the holidays!

2015 in Review

2015 is definitely a year to remember for us.  The year started out with an unexpected miscarriage and ended with the birth of our new beautiful little boy.  And in between we moved, Dan started a new job, we bought a home, and renovated a kitchen.  And those were just the "big things."

Some years for us are crazy, and others are quiet and steady.  I'm beginning to appreciate each.  While I used to crave change and enjoy the "fast paced" life of constantly going and traveling and trying new things, recently I've been appreciating the every day, normal moments.  The day in and day out.  That's one of the reasons why I really enjoyed doing my 365 day challenge this past year because I was able to capture photos of our every day.  I definitely captured the big moments, but I also captured the little moments, and looking back on those are just as fun and memorable for me.  I remember all the days we spent at the park near our house in Binghamton, washing cars, eating popsicles, playing kickball, going to baseball games, sledding, and so much more.  So here's some of my favorites from 2015.  It was definitely a year to remember and a year to be thankful for :)

(PS, here are my favorite photography photo sessions I was privileged to take this year as well :)
