Mini "Hooray for Summer" Photo Shoot

Sometimes we like to do photo shoots when Jake is sleeping.  And it was warm and breezy and almost the most perfect day this afternoon so we went for it.  And aside from the tumbling over and laying in the grass not moving part, everything seemed to go pretty well :)  Happy Tuesday friends!  I hope you're having a beautiful day!

6 months: Cole William

6 months.  This is the stage I just LOVE.  I feel like babies are just the cutest right about now.  Their chunky little legs, how they can sit up for 10 seconds and then topple over, the cooing, the smiling.  I just love it all!  And we love this little guy :)

6 months
{18 lbs 7 ounces- roughly from a sick visit lol}

  • Two teeny tiny teeth have popped through!
  • As much as I love this stage- I still am stumped by so many things right now as well.  Do you have that fever because you're sick, or you're teething?  Why are you suddenly taking 45 minute naps as opposed to 1.5 hour naps?  Why aren't you going down when you're yawning and clearly tired? So many questions.  So little answers lol
  • Cole is officially (for the most part) only waking up once in the middle of the night now.  this is a HUGE win.
  • He loves all food except anything green.  We go back and forth between green beans and sweet potatoes and that helps :)
  • You've started buzzing your lips together and it's so cute :)
  • The car seat is pretty much the worst thing in your life right now.  I'm still trying to erase from my mind the horrible crying that happened for 85% of the long drive to and from Ohio this past month
  • You are slowly scooting backwards lol  You can pretty much hold yourself up its just a matter of getting the crawling motion down!  And we aren't really doing much to help you learn at this point- the longer you stay put the better (haha) just kidding... but for real.
  • I've learned the secret to grocery shopping with you: facing out in the wrap.  We really should invest in a 360 Ergo.
  • You've started to love your bouncer and little car as you're learning to sit up!
  • You got another ear infection sadly :/  But at least it explained why you were going through a fussy stage!  Just hoping for clear ears this next month!
  • You still smile the most for Jake.  It's super cute :)

Bowling + New York friends

A couple weeks ago we had a sweet family drive all. night. long. to come visit us from New York with their three kids.  Seriously, they are such troopers!  And it was so so nice to have them stay with us and visit!  These sweet friends were some of the closest we had in New York.  Kristen and her family moved an hour away about half way through our time in New York, so when I went to do play dates with them Jake and I usually just stayed the whole day since it was easiest after the hour drive. We essentially did life together and it was so wonderful to have such great friends and fellowship!  We miss their friendship and LOVED having them here!  The only day I took photos was when we went bowling.  Their kiddos had never been so we thought it would be perfect to take them to Pinstripes- even though it's kind of like "high class" bowling- we set the expectations high! I loved capturing their sweet looks after they rolled the ball - they all had a blast.  And, their youngest loved the air - it was so funny to watch it blow on his face and hair!  We miss them so much and hopefully can visit them in New York soon!

Life recently- mostly with Cole :)

So I tend to take a lot of photos of Cole.  In all honesty, I took a photography class recently specifically focusing on light, and Cole is a *much* better model than Jake.   Trying to get Jake to A) play in a specific pocket of light never goes well or B) even pose for a photo doesn't happen since we're still battling the anti photo stage for a while now.   So this stage of life will mainly consist of Cole and some randoms of Jake when he's in the mood for me to take his photo ;)

Dan snapped this photo of Jake and I on stage during his first church performance.  Let's just say it didn't go well since I needed to be up there with him lol
