Christmas 2016

This was the first Christmas we decided to spend the 25th in Chicago.  It actually was a hard decision to make because we have so much family that we get to see on Christmas day in Ohio, but we wanted to start some of our own Christmas Eve and Christmas morning traditions with Jake waking up in his own home and felt he was old enough to start making some traditions.  Although both kiddos were sick, we had a really nice and relaxing day.   Jake was so sweet because he woke up and only noticed the stockings and took all the gifts out of everyone's stocking and lined them up in a row.  He didn't notice the gifts under the tree and thought those were the only gifts hew as getting!  We don't really go crazy with the gifts- there were only four others, but still funny that he was happy as a little clam with the five stocking gifts he found!  We read the story of Jesus and decided maybe that would be better to do Christmas Eve next year- not that our kids don't LOVE Jesus, but when there are gifts to open they weren't paying too much attention lol Then we just had a big brunch and relaxed.  It's fun to start to make memories that hopefully they will begin to remember :)  Here are some photos from our time in Chicago and Ohio.

We spent part of Christmas Eve with some friends!

Then came home and opened up two gifts- new pajamas and a new book :)  Jake LOVES the grinch so he was excited to get that book.

Then it was Christmas morning!  Cole looked like this :/  He wasn't feeling too well.  Thankfully we got some antibiotics in his system to help with the ear infections and in a couple days he was doing much better!

Jake found the stocking gifts before we even came out and took them all out of the stockings and laid them out for us to see lol

We found our Elf, Tinsel, for the last this year :)
