Christmas lights

Yep, we were definitely one of those families that had our tree up before Thanksgiving.  I'll blame it on the fact that Thanksgiving came so late this year :)  We started to bring up all the pieces of the tree, the lights, and the ornaments, and then we popped in Grinch for the first time.  I thought for sure that we would have to turn it off because Jake pleads for us to turn off Veggie Tales when the peas sing claiming that they are "scary."  If he can't handle some vegetables how is he supposed to handle the Grinch?  But he loved it.  And watched it twice.  Then watched it two more times on our ride to Ohio the next week.  He likes to keep us on our toes :)

While we were decorating Jake was in full, "let me help with everything mode."  Which was actually very cute :)  He kept running over and saying, "Jake, help, Jake help!"  And he was saying "ooh ahh" to every ornament that we gave him to put on the tree lol  Dan's family had the tradition of giving each child an ornament every year for Christmas and we've started it with him and our family and it's so fun to pull out all the ornaments we've collected over the past 6 years.  And, it's so fun to see Christmas through a two year old's eyes.  Now I can't believe Christmas is less than three weeks away!

I seriously have no idea why those lights kept showing up when I was taking pictures!

This is the look Jake gave Dan after Dan bit into his chocolate covered oreo lol

And this is super random but we made Jell-O for the first time the other day and somehow this ended up in the Christmas album!  Let's just say we aren't too into Jell-O yet but I'm sure we just need to give it some time lol

  1. Claire just had jello for the 1st time last week. she wasn't fond of it either. It probably didn't help that she was sick and SOMEone gave her too big of bite of jello...she gagged...and dinner came back up.
