Colorado part two

We were fully prepared to go on a hike the first day we arrived in Colorado, however we had some unexpected snow and cold temperatures so we headed to go on a brewery tour (when of course the weather turned sunny and beautiful :)  So the second day we were ready to go hiking and Sam and Jeff took us to this beautiful park where they had a great restaurant and playground (always good for Jake!) and they had these beautiful mountains called Flat Irons.  Although we wanted to go all the way to the top, we decided not to so we could continue to be tourists and visit some other parks and another brewery since we only had one day left.  And, I got to have dinner with my friend Hannah from college who lives out there which was SUCH a treat.  We totally forgot to take a picture but I was so glad we got to meet up.

This weekend we plan on working in the yard (as long as the weather holds out!) and relaxing.  I was so soar after the last day we spent outside pruning/ trimming so I have a feeling I am going to need the extra rest :)  Have a great weekend!

We toured the Coors brewery!

These were the Red Rocks!  We wanted to do a quick one mile hike here but there was a concert going on so we couldn't get in :(

Our weekend in Denver

You guys.  It's summer.  I didn't think it was coming this year, because our winter lasted FOREVER.  And yes, last weekend we did encounter snow when we were hiking in Denver, but this whole week has been in the 70s and 80s and it has been a-mazing.  We always have the front door open.  We spend as much time as we can outside and on our front porch.  And yesterday we chilled on the steps and ate popsicles (which Jake calls "poppys" lol) I love it. I think Spring may be my new favorite season after that brutal winter.

And although last weekend the weather wasn't quite as nice in Denver, we still had a blast visiting Dan's brother and fiance, Jeff and Sam.  Back in January Dan and I sat down and talked about all the trips we wanted to go on this year.  We mapped out where we wanted to go, then looked up tickets, then decided we wanted to get in almost all of our trips that required flying before Jake turned 2.  And we made this last trip by just under 2 weeks!  And let me tell you, Jake was quite the trooper.  Not only is Denver 2 hours behind us which left him waking up at 4:45 on Friday morning, he also didn't take a nap except for some small ones in the car here and there and we were out until almost 8 or 9 every night (making it 10 or 11 our time here in NY).  And believe it or not I think he still loves us after all of that!  And, we were thankful Jeff and Sam were patient as we made a few stops at some playgrounds to let Jake burn off some steam- even though after this trip they may be ready to postpone their first child until ten years from now as opposed to five ;)

As always we took an enormous amount of pictures so I'll share the pictures we took on Friday today and then I'll share Saturday's pictures in the next post :)

Hope you are all have a wonderful week!

First stop was Estes park
See the snow?!  We were not dressed for that...

This is the infamous Stanley hotel :)
One of our many stops to the playground :)

We had way too much fun on this thing!

We let Jake have a turn...
And we must have spinned him a little too fast because he couldn't stand for a couple seconds afterwards! lol

Jakes hat flew off- and right now he doesn't go anywhere without that hat, so Dan ran to get it before it flew into the water!

Then we visited New Belgium brewery!

And they had a slide at the end of the tour- so it was basically like a playground :)
