Weekend Updates

This weekend was a whirlwind of events! My parents and brother and sister and law were in town which was so fun :)  We ate outside in downtown Arlington Heights, caught up, played with Jake, and enjoyed the summer weather. Some phone shots of our weekend are below.

The other part of our weekend consisted of some not so fun doctor's appointments for Jake and I :(  (Jake had his 2 month shots - it was SO sad to watch... I probably shouldn't have :( They had to give him 3 and they did the first two at the exact same time and the third while he was crying.  The poor guy didn't know what he had coming and jumped SO high when they gave him the first shots :(  However, he handled it very well.. no extreme fussiness or fever later which was great.)

Then there was me- oh the post pregnancy issues seem to keep coming up for me.  At times I have gotten SO frustrated and found myself thinking "really, Lord, really? Is this seriously happening?"  And then I'm brought to my knees as I remember the kindness I have been shown by Him over and over again- the fact that we have a healthy baby boy, that I can stay home with him right now during this season of my life and work part time from home at Trinity, the fact that we can look at homes to possibly move into this fall, great friends and fellowship who support us- and the list goes on and on.  God is 100% in control and is well aware of what I am going through.  My situation does not surprise Him and I am reminded by the Holy Spirit that I can choose to honor and glorify Him through this situation or I can get angry and throw a pity party.  I'm so thankful that He gives me strength to get through it.  A helpful verse that I saw on a blog and a friend recently sent me in an email is below.  I'm so thankful that not only do we have a God who sustains us, but he cares and desires for us to come to him when we are hurting.

We went to Chick Fil A. I forgot how much I love this place- and it was PACKED.

Jake loves it too- we wanted to treat him right before his shots...

Smiling for my mom!

Out to eat in downtown arlington heights!

haha mid yawn. I would hate it if people took a picture of me mid yawn, but he's just cute all the time to me :)

Jake looking particularly happy at this time lol

The many attractive faces of Jake Cinadr

So my friend Rachael posted the many {cute} faces that her sweet daughter, Claire, does the other day.  Dan and I have been wanting to do this, but unfortunately we have been only getting somewhat.. well... unattractive pictures of Jake.  In his defense he has started smilling more and he looks SO cute when he does- we'll post those later :)  For now, enjoy these gems we captured the other day.

He does this sometimes late at night after I'm done feeding him while staring at the blank wall behind me.  It makes me wonder if there's something he's seeing that I'm not...

Burping face

hahaha this is our favorite. His terrified face.

Yawn.. ok somewhat cute :)

The wedding season continues!

So when Dan and I first moved up here to Arlington Heights and served in the Junior High ministry at our church, I met a sweet friend, Stacy.  She invited me to a Bible study right at a time when I desperately needed some godly women in my life and we have kept in touch ever since.  AND, it was so fun when she started dating Andrew, a UF grad, gator fan, Trinity graduate, and Campus Crusade for Christ "staffer" (needless to say we all had a lot in common!).  The only really sad thing is that Andrew got a job with Driscoll's church, Mars Hill, in Seattle so she is moving out there with him :(  However we can't wait to see how God uses their marriage!  Here are some pics from their wedding!

Jake did so well- after Dan walked around with him for a bit lol

Hanging out at the reception!

Caroline and Zach! They were next!!  Got married this weekend- will have pictures up soon :)

Fun "photo shoot"

Once again, the things we put our little guy through lol

Mandy with Jake :)

haha we *attempted* to dance on the dance floor with Jake.. and realized when his head started bobbing that people may start to judge us or call child services so we decided to stand and watch.  Maybe in a year or so we'll head out on the dance floor with him!

Clinging to dad for dear life lol

Fourth of July- the late blog posts continue

Lucky for me I found these pictures on my computer just in time for Labor day. Ok, I may be exaggerating a bit but I seem to be the queen of late holiday posts these days. Oh well, we have just been taking so many pictures it's hard to keep track!  When Dan's parents were in town over the fourth of July we spent some time hanging out at our place, going out to eat, and then watching some of the best fire works ever.  Well, I unfortunately didn't watch them- I was in the car with our screaming little guy because we were so close he couldn't handle the noise.  I only heard they were amazing through the grapevine, aka Dan.  Oh well, maybe next year we won't be so close and he'll actually enjoy them :)

So sweet. Jake loved falling asleep in his grandma and grandpa's arms.

Oh the things we put this poor child through. This statue is outside Salsa 17.

Family pic.

Jake was not enjoying the pictures.

Yes I played around with lightroom a bit on this.. and yes Jake's terrified looks continue.

He loves his Uncle Jeff!

Go America.

Updates from the weekend

We are trying to soak up every ounce of this HOT summer that we can!  Originally when I found out Baby C was due in May, I heard from almost everyone that May was a "great time" to have a baby because of the nice weather.  Obviously, I won't complain too much because I'm sure bundling up a baby and worrying about sickness in the winter is not fun, however this hasn't been the summer I envisioned with him.  We do go on the occasional walks (and now runs!), but I definitely try to do it early or later because when it reaches 80 degrees by 9am, it makes it difficult for me to take Jake out without him getting super sweaty.  Luckily I purchased a fan the other day and I hope it will help not only in the car, but also when we go outside :)

So, this weekend we spent lots of time outside, and I took some fun pictures to document :)

In his little all star outfit

So this wasn't from the weekend, but this is another shot of Jake hanging out with his lady friend Claire :)  Isn't it funny how they are basically in the same position?!

I love how there are such cute little guy outfits out there! My friend Steph got this for him :)

In all this hot weather, sometimes I just want to keep him in his diaper!  Plus, how can you not love those rolls?!

During our rainy Saturday I had a craving for cookies.. and I am probably averaging eating 5 per day. Thank goodnes nursing burns calories.

Jake excited for his first run with mom!

3 miles or bust.  It was rough but we survived. I'm telling everyone the heat and jogger stroller is what made it more difficult.. I can't possibly be that out of shape...

We hung out at Andy and Becca's house and they grilled for us on their new patio set! Nothing says summer like sangrias and cherries.

Becca hanging out with Jake :)

Rach and Claire! I love her adorale little girl outfits :)

Love him. And he loves how I always take pictures of him eating ha

So remember the outfit I posted earlier? Unfortunately this is the second and last time Jake will be wearing it.. he is growing up too fast :( I know he appreciated the fact that his tummy was hanging out all night.

With her two new bff's :)
